e-Hub2

UPR Info is proud to announce the launching of its new e-learning platform, the e-Hub, a cutting-edge tool to enhance the capacities of UPR stakeholders to improve human rights in their countries.

The platform is based on more than 15 years of experience with UPR Info in supporting States and civil society, including human rights defenders, members of national human rights institutions, journalists, and students in engaging with the Universal Periodic Review (UPR), a unique process that reviews the human rights situation of every UN member State.

The e-learning platform aims to reach a wider audience and make the information on the UPR accessible to everyone, regardless of their location, background, or level of expertise with the mechanism. The platform offers a comprehensive and interactive learning experience, combining self-paced content with media tools, quizzes, forums, and the guidance of a trainer at key moments of the learning process. This participatory approach facilitates a community to exchange good practices around the UPR and improve the capacities of the stakeholders to advocate for human rights in their countries.

The platform will be available in English, French, and Spanish, and can be accessed by computers or cell phones. Consisting of five e-learning modules that cover the UPR phases starting with the basis of the mechanism, the roles and responsibilities of different stakeholders, the preparation and submission of reports, the follow-up and implementation of recommendations, and the best practices and challenges of the UPR. The platform also features short videos of experienced professionals who share their insights and experiences on how the UPR can be used as a tool for human rights advocacy and change.

The e-learning platform is currently only accessible to participants of UPR Info's programmes, but it will be made available to the general public in the near future.

Our organization would like to acknowledge the support and trust of its partners and donors, who have made possible the development of this innovative and necessary project. We would also like to thank the UPR Info team and all those who, over the past two and a half years, have contributed constructively with their ideas and creativity to make this platform possible. Finally, it is worth mentioning the company Swiss Tomato, which has assisted in the creation of the e-learning platform's courses.

UPR Info hopes that this platform will contribute to raising awareness and building capacities on the UPR and its relevance for the promotion and protection of human rights around the world.
