Denmark accepts 20 new recommendations at mid-term

Denmark has recently published a mid-term report on the progress made in the implementation of the UPR recommendations received during their first review in May 2011.

In this framework, the delegation announced that 20 recommendations that were rejected then have now been accepted. These recommendations deal mainly with the ratification Optional Protocol of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, amendments in the criminal code regarding marital rape, the creation of an Ombudsman for children’s rights and the requirements for migrants and asylum seekers. The total number of accepted recommendations is now 107, the rest is noted.

This is the first time that a country changes positively its position on such a vast number of recommendations.
