Guinea-Bissau absent from the adoption of its own UPR report

Guinea-Bissau was absent from the adoption of its second-cycle UPR report at the 29th Session of the Human Rights Council (HRC) on 25 June 2015. The President of the HRC presented a statement sent on behalf of the State, in which it highlighted that it had accepted 147 recommendations of the 151 received.

One non-governmental organisation (NGO), Rencontre Africaine pour la Défense des Droits de l'Homme (RADDHO), made a stakeholder statement at the adoption. Further documentation, including the final report of the Working Group, the State’s Addendum and the webcast of the adoption, is now available.

In the past, four countries have also been absent from their own adoption at the HRC: the Gambia and Israel in the second cycle, and Kiribati and Samoa in the first cycle. Cyprus was absent during the adoption at the Working Group stage.
