UPR Report adoptions due to take place in March

A draft Programme of work (EN, FR) for the 34th session of the Human Rights Council (27 Febuary - 24 March 2017) has been released by the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR).

The Working Group (WG) Reports of States reviewed at the 26th UPR Session (31 October – 11 November 2016) will be adopted from 16 March to 17 March, following which the Item 6 General Debate is scheduled, for discussions on the UPR mechanism. The following States are scheduled to have their WG Reports adopted: Togo, Syria, Venezuela, Iceland, Zimbabwe, Lithuania, Uganda, Timor-Leste, Moldova, Haiti, and South Sudan.

CSOs will have the opportunity to take the floor, more information will follow on registration. The States under Review are expected to publish a written response to the recommendations received at their review.

The OHCHR has also published a preliminary Calendar of Human Rights Council and Council-related meetings for 2017.
