OHCHR launches Guide for NGOs on how to follow up UN recommendations

The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights is launching a new Practical Guide for Civil Society on How to follow up on United Nations Human Rights Recommendations.

This Guide focuses on how civil society can follow up on recommendations from the UN human rights mechanisms such as the Special procedures, treaty bodies and UPR. By sharing concrete follow-up activities undertaken by NGOs, as well as follow-up procedures developed by these mechanisms, the Guide offers a menu of options from which NGOs can select on the basis of their own priorities and capacity.

UPR Info contributed to the Guide and our Follow-up Programme is cited in example as a follow-up tool on the UPR.

The Guide will be launched on Friday 29 November at 4pm in room 23 of the Palais des Nations, Geneva, Switzerland, with the participation of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, Ms. Navi Pillay and UPR Info’s Executive Director, Mr. Roland Chauville
