New modalities for States' speakers list at UPR reports adoption during HRC plenary

On Monday 10 September, the Human Rights Council (HRC) adopted new modalities for States' inscription on the list of speakers in the UPR segment of the HRC.

20 minutes are dedicated to States to take the floor during the adoption of each country's UPR report at the HRC plenary session. The list of speakers will now open at 10 am on the Monday of the week preceding the UPR segment and will remain open for four days. If there is more than 13 States inscribed on the list, the HRC President will draw by lots, on the Friday following the opening, the 13 countries which will be given the floor and the order in which they will be given the floor. Each speaker will then have 1.5 minutes and the possibility to swap places with other speakers.
