Cyprus absent during its own report's adoption!

For the very first time in the (brief) history of the UPR, the State under Review was not present in the room during the adoption "ad referendum" of the report of its own review.

Cyprus contested the inclusion in the report of a statement by Turkey containing "non-UN terminology", according to a letter sent by the Ambassador of Cyprus to the President of the Human Rights Council (HRC) and therefore refused to be present in the room "when action will be taken".

The report was nonetheless adopted by the Working Group of the HRC Friday 4 December at 6.15 pm.
