Given the current situation with the spread of COVID-19 and the emergency measures that have been taken by affected countries around the world, including the host country, Switzerland, the Bureau of the Human Rights Council decided that the 36th session of the Working Group on the Universal Periodic Review (UPR), scheduled from 4 to 15 May 2020, will be postponed to 2 to 13 November 2020 - the dates currently scheduled for the 37th session of the UPR.

In view of the public health situation involving COVID-19, UPR Info has decided to cancel the Pre-sessions previously scheduled to take place in Geneva from 31 March – 3 April 2020. This decision was taken after careful consideration and with the health and security of all attendees in mind.
Please note that the training session on 30 March and the Human Rights Café on 1 April are also cancelled.
In November 2020, the Geneva Academy, in collaboration with UPR Info, is offering an intensive course designed for staff of NGOs; research institutes; UN agencies and other national and international organizations; members of NHRIs, and representatives of governments and academia.
