  • New Study: Emerging Good Practices from the UPR

    A new study, commissioned by OHCHR (UPR Branch), has been published ahead of the upcoming 4th Cycle. It highlights emerging Good Practices (GPs) from seven countries drawn from the first three cycles of the UPR. The study illustrates that the lasting benefit of engagement of all national actors with the UPR is an increase in transparency regarding compliance by States with their human rights obligations and the increase of opportunities to learn and engage with the UN human rights system.

    Representatives from civil society and National Human Rights Institutions are invited to apply to speak at the next Pre-sessions that will take place in October 2021.

    The Pre-sessions are an opportunity for these stakeholders to provide Recommending States with first-hand information on the human rights situation in the countries that will be reviewed at the UPR Working Group in November 2021.
