Entire 1st cycle recommendations available in our database

We are proud to announce the inclusion of the recommendations from the 12th session of the UPR Working Group (3-14 October 2011) into our database, which marks the incorporation of all the recommendations and voluntary pledges from the first cycle of the UPR process (2008-2012).

A total of 2434 recommendations were made by 117 States to Antigua and Barbuda, Haiti, Iceland, Ireland, Lithuania, Republic of Moldova, Swaziland, Syria, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Trinidad and Tobago, Togo, Uganda, Venezuela and Zimbabwe.

Out of those 2434 recommendations, 1837 were accepted (75.5%), 489 were rejected (20.1%), 33 were commented without a clear position (1.3%) and 75 did not receive any response (3.1%).

Regarding the action category, 38 recommendations were from category 1 (1.6%), 340 from category 2 (14%), 206 from category 3 (8.5%), 944 from category 4 (38.8%) and 906 from category 5 (37.2%).

The State under Review (SuR) which received most recommendations during session 12 was Thailand with 183 recommendations.

The most active recommending State during session 12 was Spain with 113 recommendations made to the 17 SuR.
