Egypt rejects recommendations because they are not in its contractual framework and outside IB text

Tuesday 23 February 2010

In its Report of the Working Group A/HRC/WG.6/7/L.16, Egypt rejects 21 recommendations, among which 14 without comments and 7 because they consider them as "inaccurate and/or factually incorrect". However, during the adoption, the delegation went further in its explanations. Those 21 recommendations were rejected because they are related to "matters that are not in the contractual framework of Egypt or in the basis of the UPR as established by the Institutional-building text or because such recommendations aim at changing matters that relate to the public order in [the] society or ethics or values of the Egyptian society."
