Democratic Republic of Congo and civil society

UPR Info has repeatedly emphasized the fact that the Universal Periodic Review is a great opportunity for civil society to meet with the governments and to enhance a mutual dialogue. The "Coalition nationale des ONGDH pour l’Examen Périodique Universel de la République démocratique du Congo" (CONEPU/RDC) demonstrates this very well. Not only did it convince civil society that dialogue is indeed useful, but it also encouraged the government to create a UPR/RDC Commission in which all members (both governmental and civil society ones) can meet and collaborate.
